4 Day . Mastering the Landscape Light
Studio and Plein-Air
This workshop will be split into two parts. The first two days the students will be indoors working from photos. They will do small paintings from photo references that they took them self’s (please do not bring any magazine clippings) From those images small thumbnail pencil drawings will be done to create a roadmap for the actual painting. Students might have to do several thumbnails to reach the desired design. The emphasis will be on design and value. Each painting will be kept to a limited time to get ready for the outdoor part of the class.
The last two days this same concept will be taken outdoors where you will also work on small paintings that will capture the natural landscape light.
Daily demonstrations are in oil and critiques are given everyday.
We will paint from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m daily.
