5 Day . Figure Painting Workshop
Studio and Plein-Air - weather permitting
This workshop is designed to create a relaxed, informative, yet intense working environment. Romel will demonstrate daily on his approach to painting the figure from life, using his direct fluid painting style with heavy emphasis on the use of improving color, drawing skills, value relationships, understanding edges and capturing the "feeling" of light.
Learn to use the elements that make a painting work and exciting creative use of color & edges, visual movement, paint application, distribution of abstract shapes and strong design. Students will also learn how to work on a painting done from life, and to create a finished painting using a combination of photos in the studio.
Romel provides easy-going individual instruction as well as critique and group discussion. Techniques of past great artists like Sargent, Zorn, Sorolla, etc. will also be discussed. Be prepared to work hard, make new friends and best of all - have fun. All levels are welcome.
1st Day: Portrait (head & shoulder/ limited palette)
2nd Day: Portrait (head & shoulder/ full palette)
3rd Day: Figure Pose
4th Day: Figure Pose (finishing the painting from the 3rd day using photos)
We will paint from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m daily
